Isaiah 55:10-11: God's word won't fail.

For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Proverbs 31:10-31: Where are the virtuous women?

Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

Acts 2:38-39: The plan of salvation.

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Raise Your Hand if you Love Music

I had a guy tell me he doesn't like music. What? I don't understand. The harmony of a gospel quartet? Beethoven? Come on now.

Why Prayer is Important

Last night as I was walking to my apartment from the bus stop a man called out to me trying to get my attention. I ignored him and pretended to listen to my headphones. I walked a little faster and from my peripheral I could see that he began to walk faster as well. I walked even faster and now he was more close. There was a woman walking toward me and she was going into the same apartment building I live in. I called out to her and began a conversation (pretending to know her). I hurried and opened the door for her and went in after her, and the man who was following me kept walking and turned into our parking lot. As I opened the door I could see that he stopped and was still looking at me, so I ran inside my apartment and locked the door.

Yesterday morning I woke up, used the bathroom, and got on my knees to pray. For some reason I kept thanking God for protecting me in my car, in my home, around campus, etc. I didn't know why, but I felt like I needed to keep praying for protection, and I'm so glad I did. I do not know if that man had planned to do me harm, if he was just trying to flirt, or what the situation could have turned into. All I know is that I'd never felt scared like that before (yes, even though I'm from Detroit, I NEVER felt scared like that before).

I want to encourage you today to pray. Don't just throw God a simple, "thank you Jesus for waking me up this morning." He deserves much more than that. We must stay prayerful because we're living in the last days. The enemy is out to steal, kill, and destroy all that God has planned.

I know your schedule is busy and there are tons of "things" competing for your time, but would it be worth it to you to take a good 15-20 minutes per day for some solid, focused prayer?

Yes, it would.
